Vintage | Excellent winter rains and good fruit set was a good sign for a healthy vintage. Summer was mild to warm with a couple of rain events during January & February helped freshen things up leading into April harvest. |
Style | The nose is wonderfully bright and fresh – blackberry, subtle black pepper, meaty with sweet spices. The palate is soft with fine tannins, the fruit is lively and detailed with raspberries and blackcurrant, fresh and pure. The dark fruit rolls on with fine acidity. |

The Winefront – Gary Walsh Jan 18
This is such a good drink, and versatile too. It can take a light chill, or you can take it more seriously. It’s spicy, meaty and quite purple, with blackberry, raspberry and blackcurrant, a succulence and juiciness, but layered with spice and a touch of bunchy greenery. Acidity is pure, fine and well-settled, and the tannin is firm enough to keep it straight, yet not lose its almost playful and supple edge. It’s a beautiful wine.
